Research at the library is a donation of $1.50 for an adult non-member per visit. Note: the library does not have a phone available for handling genealogy queries.

Brookville Historical Society, Inc. genealogy library has a lot of information from early Montgomery County, Ohio. Some of the holdings include cemetery readings and indexes, old newspaper articles and obituaries, surname files, many family histories, early plat maps, and histories from area counties.

The collection is focused around Brookville and surrounding townships in northwest Montgomery County, northeast Preble County, Southwest Miami County, and southeast Darke County in Ohio. This includes the townships of Clay, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, Perry, and Randolph in Montgomery County. 

The library is staffed by volunteers and research is available for a donation of $10.00 per hour. 

Queries by mail will be researched using the following guidelines.
For an initial donation of $15.00 you will get up to 1 hour of search time, up to 8 copies of information found, and an estimate for additional search and copy costs. You must include a SASE with your request.
